Kevin S. Donnelly, DVM, MS, DACVO ®, Board-certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist, joined the VEI Plano team in 2023.
Dr. Donnelly graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Westminster College. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Donnelly completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania. His residency in comparative ophthalmology was completed at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine while also completing a Master of Science in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences.
His research had been published in journals including Veterinary Ophthalmology, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, and The Journal of Experimental Biology. He has also presented research at the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists and the Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology meetings.
He has a special interest in cataract surgery. His favorite part of veterinary medicine is helping to restore pets’ vision and witnessing the improvement of pets with chronic and painful eye conditions.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, their young son, and their dog. He enjoys fishing, boating, camping and pretty much anything outdoors.
